about

The Scavenger is convinced he's saved his angel. He comes back to where she is kept and finds that she isn't waking up. The world around him loses all color as he tries to grasp what has happened here. He leaves his sanctuary with hands raised and red, and is apprehended.

lyrics

Living through a life in monochrome
Am I really here, or am I just a ghost?
I don't think a soul knows I'm alive
(Will he fade away?)

Waiting for the rain to run its course
It'll wash me away and take me far from shore
Let my mind and body drift away

What could I have done?
When love turns to loss and broken promises
You're tearing down the towers we made

Are you still here or did you run away?
Was there something I said that made you want to stay?
Colors of the world begin to fade

The cogs in the machine are coming to a grinding halt
Wasting away, in leprotic sanctimonium
(what have we become?)
Days are lost with all the burning bridges crossed

A religion of thieves,
The division that leaves its Acolytes in bitter shock
Why won't you save me from this?
Impossible hypocrisy
(You tried but you can never leave)
You stole my sight and truth revealed itself to me

Cause it all turns grey
Don't try to fight it
Watch the colors fade away
Out of sight, devoid of life
Cause it all turns grey
Embrace the silence just to find that it
All turns back to grey

Can I withstand the force of entropy?
Cause everytime that I wake the less that I believe
I deserve a second chance at all
(will he fade away?)

Too scared to go but too afraid to stay
And now I'm stuck somewhere between the tithe I have to pay
Bear the burden or just take the fall

What have I become?
When lies turn to the leverage of the little things
To keep the truth from ever really happening

Is there a winner when all's said and done?
Cause neither got the better of the other one
Give it up or give into the sun

Will this ever end?
(Will this ever end?)
When did it begin?
(When did it begin?)
Who is there to blame?
(Who is there to blame?)
For giving in to circumstance

How will he move on?
(How will he move on?)
After murdering the one
(After murdering the one)
He swore himself to save
(He swore himself to save)
How does one live through this fate?

His hands have been raised
Today is the day
To face a world he's never known
What will everyone say?
"Does the sinner think he can atone?"
(We all know that the answer's no)
He'll have to wait until he faces judgment day

Cause it all turns grey
Don't try to fight it
Watch the colors fade away
Out of sight, devoid of life
Cause it all turns grey
Embrace the silence just to find that it
All turns back to grey

I won't try to fight it
I have recognized that
I am but a reject
Just an earthly defect

I was no one's savior
I was never able
I have finally found that
I'm just a delusion

I won't try to fight it
I have realized that
I am but a heathen
Just an lowly demon

I am no one's martyr
I'll just fall apart cause
I have finally found that
I'm just a delusion

Cause it all turns grey
Don't try to fight it
Watch the colors fade away
Out of sight, devoid of life
Cause it all turns grey
Tried to break the silence just to find that it
All turns back to grey

Cause it all turns grey
Cause it all turns grey
Cause it all turns grey
Cause it all turns grey
Cause it all turns grey
Cause it all turns grey
